Mood Swings: When people use the term “mood swings” they may be referring to a variety of mood shifts.  People may mean they have highs and lows (as with obvious or subtle forms of bipolar disorder).  Others may mean rapidly shifting moods or being quick to anger.  Some people will describe feeling perfectly fine at one moment, then something upsetting happens, and suddenly they get thrown into a depressed, negative, or irritable mood.
